LEGO Friends for Girls Who Love Imaginative Play!

By Mommy Donna and Kib - July 07, 2017

LEGO is considered a must toy for every children.  It develops creativity and imaginative play.  With lots of possibilities when you combine different LEGO bricks and pieces, a child can create multiple figures and images.  We just need to remind our children to pack away each LEGO pieces or else, we might step on it and it'll hurt us big time, waaah!

Before, LEGO was considered as a toy for boys.

I remember a time when my siblings and I were still young, I would play with my Barbie and my brother with his LEGO.  We would play together, pretending that the LEGO structure that my brother built will be my Barbie's home.

Presently, my son is now hooked on LEGO.  He combined ALL of his LEGO playsets so he can create more structures and play with his friends.  Sometimes my son and his friends would 'trade' LEGO pieces.  I just to remind him every now and then that he should put all of his LEGO bricks in one place, it's scattered all over the house, arrrgggghhh!!!

As the company evolved in their years of experience, LEGO started to develop different playsets to cater to different children of different ages.  It has a playset for toddlers, for school-aged kids, for teens, and even for adults!

What's good is that LEGO can now already be played by little girls!

Last June 30th, LEGO has invited several mommy bloggers together with their kids to have a wonderful time playing and creating structures and images using LEGO bricks.  The event also served as a preview to what will happen for the two weekends of July.  This event primarily introduces LEGO Friends to the public.

Here are other photos of the event:

LEGO Friends is a product range of the LEGO construction toy designed primarily for girls.  Introduced in 2012, the theme introduced the "mini-doll" figures, which are about the same size as the traditional minifigures but are more detailed and realistic.  The sets include pieces in pink and purple color schemes and depict scenes from suburban life set in the fictional town of Heartlake City.  In the initial wave of sets, the larger sets include bricks that can build a veterinary clinic, a malt-style cafe, a beauty salon and a suburban house; smaller sets included a "cool convertible", a design studio, an inventor's workshop and a swimming pool.  LEGO Friends theme center around five best friends, each with their own unique personality, who live in the beautiful Heartlake City, where there are lots of cute animals to take care of, shops to visit, and houses to live in.

Here are the five core characters of LEGO Friends.  Each and every character has their own personality!  Choose the character your little girl can relate most:

Stephanie is a confident natural leader.  She is very social, creative, and organized.  She loves planning events, parties, and soccer.  She also enjoys talking to people, writing stories and dancing ballet as well.  Her signature colors are white, magenta, and light pink.  Her favorite food is cupcakes.

Olivia is an environmentalist who enjoys science, nature, and history.  She also enjoys inventing, hiking, taking pictures, going to school, and drawing.  She is also a caretaker of a newborn foal (a baby horse).  Her signature colors are pink, purple, and white.  She is very intelligent and focused, yet at times clumsy.

Emma is the fashionista of the group.  She is a very stylish and trendy girl who loves style.  As shown in the sets she appears in, it is very obvious that she loves fashion design, jewelry-making, interior design, makeovers, English horseback jumping and karate.  Her signature colors are purple and pink.  She is very fashionable, yet sometimes forgetful and unable to speak up for herself.

Mia is the animal lover of the group.  She is also a vegetarian.  She enjoys taking care and spending time with animals.  She also excels at playing sports, training animals, and playing drums.  In addition, she also enjoys riding horses, camping, and doing magic tricks.  Her signature colors are light blue, green, and purple.  She is very caring and athletic, yet somewhat stubborn.

Andrea is the musician of the group.  She is a talented singer and great at composing her own songs.  She loves anything about music--singing, playing the piano, dancing, acting.  She is also a great cook; she currently works at a cafe.  She loves bunnies too!  She is a practical person, yet at times she can also be overly dramatic.  She is sometimes a little full of herself, being impulsive and careless at times, but whenever she commits mistakes, she learns from it.
