The Book Museum cum Ethnology Center in Marikina City: A Must- Visit Place for Learning
Kib and I love books. I really wanted to raise Kib with love for reading that is why I bought a lot of books for him since he was two years old. I am also thankful for friends who have also contributed on our small library at home (read more about it here).
Apart from our love for books, Kib and I also like going to new places. When I heard about the opening of a book museum in Marikina, I was so excited about it. It is just near our place. I do not need to battle the traffic just to get there.
The Book Museum cum Ethnology Center in Marikina City just opened early this year. It is owned by Atty. Dominador D. Buhain who also owns Rex Group of Companies. It is pretty obvious that he loves books because he owns a printing company, hehehe. He also loves traveling, as he is one of the most-travelled persons around the globe (to date he has travelled to 211 countries and islands).
In the Book Museum, you can see all the printed materials Atty. Buhain collected from all of his travels. The Museum has also a collection of all his favorite books and the books printed by Rex Publishing House. Apart from that, there are rare books from his collection too.
I am not telling anything about the things that we've seen during our visit at The Book Museum cum Ethnology Center as I do not want to spoil the fun and I would really encourage you to visit this place so that you will learn more about the exhibit.
Take a look at the photos that I took during the visit:
I asked the museum manager if Atty. Buhain loans his collection to other museums. She said that Atty. Buhain never loaned any of these and they were only shown in public during the events Rex Group of Companies organized. This is the first time that Atty. Buhain shared his collection to the people by putting up a museum.
Kib and I had really fun during our trip at The Book Museum cum Ethnology Center. The museum staff were also amazed on Kib's curiosity on the exhibits there. He even said that Johannes Guttenberg printed the first Bible, ahihihi. For sure, Kib and I will be back here together with our other homeschooling friends :)
The Book Museum cum Ethnology Center is really one place to learn more about books, travel, and our very rich culture.
Oh, wait, I almost forgot to mention, The Book Museum cum Ethnology Center has tied up with two establishments near them. The Book Museum decided to partner with these two establishments because they also promote the love for reading.
